With this work I photographed the scars left after a road traffic accident I was involved in. During my time recovering from my injuries I was given the opportunity to reflect on my life. On my release from the hospital I began to realise how lucky I was to be still alive & in the time since I really have began to live the life I’d always wanted. By photographing the scars left by my accident I want to show the beauty that can come from something so violent as a road traffic accident. In making this work I was mindful of the beautiful sculpture of ancient Rome & how in such turmoil beauty can be forged.
